I’m a slow one, I am

How is it that until very recently I’d never come across Ani Difranco or Magaret Cho in my travels.

*shakes head disbelievingly and looks at the rock from under which I’ve crawled*

I humbly thank-you Ches for introducing me to that which I should have been acquainted with waaayyyyy earlier. This also applies to Barenaked Ladies.

Quite surprised by that myself, given the number of people we know mutually know who are Ani fans, myself included 🙂

You’re welcome and likewise. You’ve similarly opened me to cool things–poi, real (not fantasy) polyamory, and possibilities of ex-pat travel. *kiss* Mutually expanding friendships are great!

I am similarly Ani-ignorant. I keep meaning to investigate.

I recommend “Dilate”, “Little Plastic Castle” and “To The Teeth” as some of her best work.

You hadn’t heard BNL yet? tut, tut! Glad you’ve finally been introduced. 🙂

Thanks – I don’t have any of those 🙂 I have Puddle Dive and Living in Clip and have been suitably impressed by them.

I imagine she’s one of those artists whom people assume everyone (well, everyone we know) would already know about so not necessarily come up in conversation unless she’s coming to Melbourne for concerts or something. *shrug* I know now!

hear, hear!

So am I! Totally am wearing out their songs “If I Had A Million Dollars” and “One Week”!
