That time of year again

Time to say goodbye to friends, watch them leave not knowing when next we’ll meet again. This is the downer of living OS – the international community is in constant flux. This is year is not as bad as last year, mainly due to friends living further away and thus being more difficult to see on any regular basis. Still, it is sad to say goodbye.

Friday night was dinner with Bianca. She’d heard about an all-you-can-eat Brazilian Meat buffet in Osaka – 12 different types of meat. (Though I think it should actually read 12 different cuts of meat). There was a good buffet filled with salads and vegies and soups and then hot Brazilian men came around with big metal skewers of meat and cut off slices at the tables. The slices were small so that while we felt full at the end, it wasn’t an uncomfortable fullness. When we were finished with the meat, a guy came around with grilled pineapple with cinnamon. Soooooo yummy! He said it as good for digestion. I don’t know if it was, but it was certainly good for my tastebuds.

After dinner we wandered down to Haagan Daaz for dessert. I was going to be good and stick to sorbet, but was tempted by the Lychee and Ginger ice cream. New discovery: ice cream is not only too creamy for me now, but also doesn’t taste as good anymore. This is a good thing TM – it’s much easier to be nice to my body when my tastebuds don’t actually like what’s bad for it! Ice cream is (or maybe was) one of my favouritist things in the world, so it is a big thing that I don’t like it much anymore.

But I digress. Lola came and met us and we hung around Haagan Daaz drinking water and chatting. Not especially exciting in writing, but a much appreciated rocking evening of interesting and fun conversation. Yay.

Can I suggest 400 pixel width as a good size for online posting? A big larger is ok, but i’ve found it to be a good
standard

and pineapple and cinnamon yum!

Thanks…how do I tell it’s 400 pixel wide? I’ve been resizing them in ACDSee but when they are put up on lj they are coming out almost twice the size I’ve shrunk them too – and yes, I’m viewing at actual size, not fit page or whatever!
