Bye bye, Baby, bye bye.

I am home and feeling very much like the last 6 weeks have been some sort of weird dream/nightmare mishmash. It’s funny how so much can change in such a short space of time. I think I need to get to know my heart again. “Hello there, I’m Amber. I share this body with you and would very much like to be considered one of your confidantes”

Anyways, I don’t know how much of my trip will make it here. Here’s a start:

Two goodbyes in the first week….

The first goodbye being to Tracy…it seems good byes are part and parcel of our friendship contract. She is now in Poland, trying to make sense of vowelless words and getting used to not looking foreign and not speaking the lingo (as opposed to looking foreign but being fluent in the language)
We had a whole week of being in the same country – luxury, I tell ye, sheer luxury!

Trace and I the day before she left.

Then the sad, sad news that one of my precious loves was dying slowly and it was a downward spiral I should not stay with. After a decade of adventures, and racking up over 100 000km despite being parted for nearly four of those years, the time came for me to farewell LC. It was a heartbreaking decision to make, made even more so by the suddenness. I was prepared to spend time looking for her new owner when I came back in 2007. I was not prepared for her to be rapidly becoming undrivable this year. Unfortunately the work which needed to be done on her was way more than I was prepared to spend given I only wanted her for another two years. Also unfortnately, I did not want to spend the time looking for a new owner during this break, so the wreckers was where she went. To add insult to injury, the first two wreckers refused her. 🙁 It seems Cordias all go to Geelong to die (the first two places already had four or five)

Farewell, my love. You were my first and you will remain in my heart forever. *blows a kiss*

Ophelia says her farewells as well.

Scarily enough, this was not the lowest point of the last month – and those who know me and my baby know that it should’ve been. I am still having difficulty imagining coming back to no LC 🙁 So from my 3 C loves – cat, car, camera – I am now down to two.

On a happier note, here’s a photo of my brown baby being cute and snuggly….

Oh, and now I’m putting away money for a new car when I finally move back to Melbourne. I’m thinking purple convertible with black seats and silver trims, and a kick-arse stereo system, of course….. 😉

Sad news about the car. I still have a photo of my old Celica being towed away at the end of its life.

Dawww! Cute kitten!
(but then, you knew I would say that!)

Woohoo! Gypsyamber’s pimped up ride! You’ll also need gull-wing doors and a disco ball!

I’ll get you an ‘Om’ hood ornament in gold chrome 🙂
