Milestones

My camera has gone back to labeling images from 0001. For the second time.

I have taken over 20,000 images on my digital since buying it May 2005. Whoot!

That’s a seriously large amount of photos. Just under 30 photos a day. Are you going to go back to doing your photo-a-day project soon?

gypsyamberApril 17, 2007 - 3:09 am

I know!…plus I also take film…though not nearly as much. I guess it has definitely paid off going digital. My reasoning was that at the then current rate of 5-7 films a week, I could pay for the digital SLR within a month. I think it has paid for itself a thousand times over. Incidently though, of those photos you saw on the weekend, only one was digital.

Are you going to go back to doing your photo-a-day project soon?
Funny you should ask…

Oh and that icon is too cute!

zen_catApril 17, 2007 - 3:20 am

I’m glad you like it. 🙂

I reckon you should try and get your photos published in media as much as possible. I know that the age has an open call for interesting photos (here). There is also a Tourism Victoria competition running via the age as well. If nothing else, it’ll start getting your name circulating out there in the photography industry.

I think the cat licking the screen is still my favourite – maybe cos it reminds me of the view I wake to each morning!

Thanks for those links. I had no idea. Hmmm…now when this week can I go shooting round Melbourne….Yipes!

Oh, I know exactly what I want to photograph 🙂 Hopefully it’ll still be there.

I did have photos published in japan, but have been slack about following through here.

What did you have in mind? I was also thinking that we should pick out a time and go wandering around Fitzroy and check out all of the photogalleries there. It’s definately a lazy sunday morning sorta thing.

gypsyamberApril 17, 2007 - 3:51 am

The other day when Fi and I were driving past Fed Square and the Yarra, we saw a whole fair setup with two ferris wheels and carousol and other things. Would love to get some dusk or night shots of that…not to mention, really want to ride the ferris wheel! Might try on Thursday night after physio…if Beth and Wendy are fine for me to arrive somewhat later than planned! Company always welcome, though I’m not convinced it’s interesting watching someone take photos 😉

Wandering Fitzroy and photogalleries sounds great. Could do it this Sunday, if you’ve no objections to Traveler coming along too. Was kinda thinking of taking him wandering through one of the fun areas anyway… Otherwise next weekend is good too 🙂
Shall have to find out the address of a gallery I want to check out which sounds like it might be perfect for Fi and my exhibition.

eeee!

Posting photos – getting back you. I have missed it. Yay! : ) I await your next photo entry!

Re: eeee!

*waves* yes, hello. I am gypsyamber and I am recently returned from morphineville!

Today was the first day in too, too long that I woke up and wanted to chuck my camera back in my my bag. Such a good feeling 😀

I might leave you to your thursday night ferris wheeling. It seems my instructor hurt himself quite badly last week, so i’ll be helping out for the next month or two. Excellent experience for me, but not so fun for him.

As you may know, there are a huge cluster of photography places and galleries (well, 5 to 8ish) around Johnson St and Smith St. I’ve been walking past them for four years now on my way to training, so I’m kinda curious to take a look inside of each of them.

I’m not adverse to meeting the aforementioned traveller, especially if he’s entertaining 🙂

btw, what is Fi going to be exhibiting?

gypsyamberApril 17, 2007 - 4:17 am

It would have seemed like such a neat trick by your instructor, if there hadn’t been that whole part about serious injury 🙁 Well enjoy the experience. Teaching really is the best way of solidifying everything you’ve learnt….and illustrating to yourself just how far you’ve come.

Traveler is very interesting at least…I’m entertained when I hang out with Traveler and Shannon. The last night I stayed with them when I visited, we dragged a mattress into the middle of the field and slept under the stars, first consuming insanely named ice creams and playing SpanInq.

Fi will be exhibiting drawings and I think paintings of Japan along with my photos of Japan. She has a sketchbook of drawings from when she visited and I’m very keen to exhibit with her.

That’s my tent, y0. It’s there for the duration of comedy festival, and I think the sideshow is there for the same time.

Inside the tent there’s a row of the clown heads that move side to side. Shall I pop down on Thursday and see if I can get you inside briefly?

Maybe it’s time you took it in for a retread!

Keep ’em coming. Your work is gold.

That would be awesome!!! I’m planning on going in the evening, to get all the lights. I was going to go after physio, around 7:30, but with an offer like that, I’ll go anytime after 5 I can *grin* I have plenty of time for physio on Friday.

When would suit you?

gypsyamberApril 17, 2007 - 9:46 pm

Well she is due for a good sensor clean!

Now here’s hoping that people who don’t know me agree with you….and possibly decide I’m worth a pro camera and printer set-up….!

tyggerjaiApril 18, 2007 - 4:22 am

Working during the day, for once, so 7.30 ish is fine. The later we go, though, the more chance of there being shows on, and no access to inside, but we can probably sneak in during an interval if Nat is on the door.

Let’s say 7.30 ish, then, at the little ferris wheel/carousel next to the tent?
