Phew, and Wheee!!!!

Given the unexpected turn of events last time, I went into today’s appointment with the surgeon with some trepidition. Both the physio and I have thought my knee is doing well, but that’s what we thought last time.

I am very relieved and happy to report that the surgeon was much happier this time round. He’s extremely pleased with the strength and stability of the ligaments, so that has definitely been a success. He was also happy that I’ve retained bend in my knee.

Now I can lose the brace and the crutch whenever I feel ready. I have to do lots of stairs practice – oh dear, where on earth will I find stairs to pracitice on! *hand to cheek, mouth open in mock oh no* (for those who don’t know the house I currently live in, it is a three story townhouse) I’m allowed to start riding a bike again – although I shall start with stationary for a while, and I’m allowed to swim. Yippeee!!!!

Oh, and once I am comfortable and confident with going up and down stairs sans brace and crutch, then I can start driving again. Mum was not too thrilled with my glib “well, I’ll be driving within the week, then!” I give it two weeks tops.

But I can swim again. And drive. And ride a bike. Three of the four things I miss the most…okay, so actually three of the five things I miss the most, but living in Japan never gave me practice at abstaining from swimming, riding or dancing 😉

This is so fantastic! Time to get me a membership to the brunswick baths, and looks like I’ll be joining the gym too, at least till I feel confident enough to take on real bike riding. Wheee-hheeeee!

Will do. Will also attempt to include a semi-intelliglable schedule of my regular ongoings so that said phone call might actually happen successfully. 😀

I really am so pleased that you’re doing well. Your spirit seems healthy and rejuvenated. Yay for that!

I’m thinking of going tomorrow and getting membership – while I’m paying off my visa, might as well add that…it’s for health purposes! Was going to go tonight on way home from worlk, but I wanna be able to swim then and there when I join!

Looks like you’re getting a gym buddy as well as pool buddy, at least for the first three months 😉

gypsyamberMarch 30, 2007 - 3:30 am

Hmm… Probably.

I tend to be influenced a lot by the attitudes/emotions of those I trust/care for/love. When the people who mean a lot to me are down in the dumps, I tend to not be as chipper. When they are happy, I tend to be more cheerful.

When they are having messy, noisy, fun and fabulous sex, then I tend to look like a sleeping cat that thinks it’s chasing a mouse.
