Who knows how to play mahjong? I have a beautiful antique mahjong set which has only been brought out once for enjoyment. (well, enjoyment of playing, rather than enjoyment of looking – which occurs a lot more frequently!) It is a shame for it to not be used and loved more often.
Even if anyone is interested in learning mahjong – of course that would mean you’d be learning *my* family rules 😉 As yet I have not found any other players who play with the same traditions. This is half the fun – discovering other familys’ rules.
I am looking for two to three other people to play with. And I really should teach it to teknohippi and evil_hamster, so that for the rare times that we are at home together without games to write or work to do we could play!
Ooh. I haven’t played in years. I remember the basic concept, but would certainly need a refresher. So yes, put me down.
Of course, scheduling is the eternal issue with me.

I haven’t played in a while either. I have a beautiful watercolour painted bone and bamboo set that doesn’t get used enough, so count me in also.
It’s a pity we reside in opposite hemispheres, otherwise you would be more than welcome at the mahjong night that I have at my house each Tuesday evening. We have tons of fun–I hope you can start up a group at yours!

I know how to play mahjong, but I don’t much like the game. There are a lot of other games I’d much rather play. Still, I can easily teach it, I’m familiar with quite a few variations of the game, and I’m willing to play to make up the numbers every now and then.
Indeed it is. Maybe I shall start a similar thing here. So far given the response, definitely have enough people interested.
Who is this? If we need to make up numbers I may call, but at the same time, if you don’t much enjoy the game it would be surely better to arrange some other games eve with games you will enjoy…
However I would like to learn the variations 🙂

Though, to be perfectly honest, it’s much more about the social interaction than the game for me, so I’ll be happy to come along and watch, and be a player if needed.
I learnt to play when I was 6! and I think I know about seven sets of house rules I don’t think anyone plays it the same!
I love Mahjong my sisters and I play semi regularly.
