Word for 2010

I thought my word was going to be self-improvement, but I realised today my word for 2010 is actually (RE)DISCOVERY.

With my new job, I can see the day where I have energy to spare outside of work for, you know, a life.

I have started rediscovering things that I have loved…old books, music, hobbies…
I had a wow moment today – Wow, I really am blonde again, aren’t I?!! It feels like in many ways I’m discovering the bits of my teenage and child self that I still love and think are worthwhile holding on to. Like the circle of working out who am I is now complete and it’s now a case of who do I want to become.

At the same time I think it will be a year of discovery. Discovering Japan through Rafe’s eyes. Discovering a new me through detoxing and continuing the Kung Fu training…already I notice both physical and mental difference which are exciting.
This first week of 2010 I’ve been discovering that thing they call a runner’s high. It’s real!! Just run enough so that you think you’re gonna die, and then wait 15 min for The Happy to set in. It’s AWESOME!!!!! Even more awesome is the fact that I *can* run, and that when I measured my thighs tonight they were both the same size. Took a long time to get my right thigh muscles back, but it would seem they are finally here.

Discovery.

I’m excited!

So, so glad to hear that you’re getting your health back. I remeber the first time I met you was giving you a lift home from Arc when you were on crutches and it’s wonderful to see all the positive changes since then 🙂

That all makes me so happy (well, I’m still sceptical about the running being fun, but it is sooo fabulous that you can now do that :).

Lots of love and enjoy your year!

Reading this makes me happier than I can explain.

I’m having something of a reawakening as well, a rekindling of the creative spirit and a revitalizing of the artistic Voice within myself. Nice to see similar things happening elsewhere.

May your year be full of equally wonderful (re)discovery.

I love and miss you, my cat-eyed gypsy-girl.

glad to here the year is getting off to a good start for you. I am also glad to here that running is AWESOME.
So
Just wondering if you and Rafe can get up here in Febuary for our wedding?

gypsyamberJanuary 10, 2010 - 10:14 am

Yes we are coming – I sent the RSVP last week!

gypsyamberJanuary 10, 2010 - 10:15 am

We so do. When is good times for you?

gypsyamberJanuary 10, 2010 - 10:16 am

Pretty darn wonderful to have all the changes. At that stage, just everything had come apart in my life and I was a real mess. The kindness of strangers was all the more appreciated then – particularly for thngs like being driven home 🙂

gypsyamberJanuary 10, 2010 - 10:17 am

I love you and miss you too.

Good to see that you’re having a rekindling of old passions too 🙂
