The beginning of learning

Hee. I just ordered books. More books!!! *dances jig* I know I was sworn off buying books until I had read at least half those I have here, but I _had_ to have these. They’re very important *nods head convincingly*
Four books on photogrpahy. See. I told you they are important. It’s nearly October and I still haven’t fulfilled my NYs resolution to learn all the funky manual stuff on my camera. So it’s time I did (one might say that given I’ve had the camera 11 years, it is well _over_ time that I did)
*bounce* I’m going to learn exposure tricks, so my loving of low and natural light can actually work more often. I’m going to learn how to play with depth of field. I’m going to learn all the clever stuff which I know of, and know can be done, but get confused about when I try to think them out.
I get new books soon!! They arrive next week *huge smile*

Hey! I wrote a comment back. What happened to it?!?

Anyways, have been meaning to hook up with Nat and cameras for ages, however given the shortness of their stay, there are other things I’d rather be doing with Nat *brief dip in gutter, then back to dry land*
So many places to take her and Andrew and things to show them (Koyasan, sushi place, Osaka, Osaka Aquarium, tea house, bath house, Wakayama castle, beer festival, Kyoto…)…don’t want to be wasting time on something which does not have immediate bearing on them being in japan, nor which can be done elsewhere.

Only five more sleeps *BOUNCE*

Thou shalt bend down and tremble before me!

Well, taking photos can be relevant. You have to know how to use your camera to take good photos of them, and if Nat deigns to let you use HER camera to take a photo, you will definatley need instructions!

I am sure she could rip through some basics in 5 minutes while you are sitting on a train going somewhere exotic!

Never fear – I can use my camera plenty well enough to take good photos of them both *grin* I’ve actually been taught the basic tech stuff numerous times throughout the years, but have not followed through on the practice enough to make the knowledge as natural as breathing. I just need to practice and practice so that I can make the film capture all that I see, how i see it.
