The need for comfort food

Two weeks flies by so quickly – yesterday Nat and Andrew headed off to England, having had their two weeks of summer (gotta say, wakayama not doing a brilliant job of providing) It was wonderful beyond words to see them, to spend time, to chat and to share a part of my life here with them. However, it is also a good thing they left yesterday because now I have tonsillitis 🙁 I just hope I didn’t give it to them before they left…
I have had lj and e-mail ADD recently: I skim and browse but get restless and bored before I even type in one reply or comment. Quizzes and memes, short ones, are my limit at the moment. And birthday cards – I do love the birthday alarm thingy. Very handy.
Ooh, break in the wind…maybe a good time to get dinner (did i mention the typhoon raging outside) I’m craving tomato soup like nothing else but have strong suspicion that it is not available anywhere in wakayama 🙁 Can’t think what else would like to eat. Really want home comfort food right now. Bit thin on the ground here. As much as I like sashimi, just not a whole lot comforting about it! Maybe I should order a stash of home comfort food and put it in the back of the cupboard just for nights like tonight when I’m sick and blah and want to not have to fend for myself.
I’d really like to have Ophelia here right now. I miss my brown fluffy football.

I’m so spoiled to have meijiya nearby! but really I think I’ve been away from home so long that I’ve forgotten what most of my favorite foods taste like! 😛

I find the pizza man to be of service at times like those…as long as he can deliver something without squid!

Oh, comfort is so important!

But first what colour was your bike helmet?

Green with bits of purple…or was it purple with bits of green….? Don’t worry about sending it over. I’ll pick it up in March – am thinking of bringing back bike too.

Kawaiso!

Hey Amber-chan,

Hope you’re feeling better and back to 100% genki soon!

If I was down your way I’d make you soup – hope you have some luck finding something to satisfy your craving!

x D.

Re: Kawaiso!

Hey Damo-kun,
That would be so lovely! I fround some cambells minestrone and clam chowder … fingers crossed. Found two jap version of tomato soup – not worth even remembering..blegh. I really miss Velish soup – did you have that in Adelaide? That is just the best. I live on it in winter 🙂
I did find some bread that is almost real bread though – it has grainy bits and everything!

Or you can have it with brocolli – exactly one piece of each topping on each slice – that’s the home delivery pizza anyway.

Ooh…*would bounce if could* a bike helmet full of soup. A novel yet oh-so-appealing use of a bike helmet. Damn! Wish I could remember the colour! Leaning towards purple, cos the bike’s green…I know my helmet is metallic coloured….
Mmm…soup…tomato soup..pumpkin soup…yummy, yummy cup soup soups!
