Only six more days of the zoo

unfortunately the last three are reserved for the second years – whom I f’ing hate teaching. Remember at school when there were always a couple of kids who would not work and would talk all the time and not listen to anything said. Now reverse the ratios. That’s right, the majority of the second years talk and muck up and listen to nothing. Telling them to shut-up does no good. Standing by their desks does nothing. And I can’t do anything else. I can’t kick them out of the classroom. I can’t even tell them off much – not keen to discover which other students may snap. Then when I ask the teacher if I can have a word with the class she tells me no. WTF. Just because you’ve not got enough spine to hold you upright, let alone stand up to students, doesn’t mean I don’t. I had even been working out the Japanese in my head. I hate the group and I have no respect for the teacher I have to teach them with. And, oh joy, I’ll be getting the same combination next year (stupid system where the teachers move through the years with the students), only they’ll be that much older, and that much more confident as to what they can get away with.
So far this hasn’t made it to my least fave school because all the staff talk with me, and welcome me and the third years are great (the ones who don’t want to study just do their own thing, quietly). However, unless next year’s first years are little angels, I suspect this will become the bottom rung school, no matter how nice the staff are to me. Grump.
Of course today is exasperated by the construction work going on in my head. *grimace*
Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is Friday…..breathe….
