There is a misconception

(just ONE? *incredulous tone*) that Japanese food is all incredibly healthy. Yet I crave decent, all vegetable, non-fried foods more than anything else here. I nice chickpea curry, or lentil something, I dunno. It’s all fine as long as I’m willing to order the ingrediants and cook, but nights like tonight, when I’m too tired to cook, bored of my current soup (indeed pretty over soup all together right now) and wanting to get something not fried and not involving rice or noodles, something healthy which my body would thank me for, all the foods available do not seem body-friendly. I could get umpteen versions of breaded and battered and fried meats and vegetables but could find nearly nothing which appealed. I have all the ingrediants for next curry in my fridge but felt too icky to cook. The closest I could come to a nice healthy vegetarian dish was yoghurt and blueberry sauce. Not that close you might say.
When I get back to Melbourne, I believe there will be a small bout of frequenting vegetarian restaurants…or kitling‘s place…she makes YUMMMY foods.

You should come to Okinawa for healthy eating. The place where, despite an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, and tons of animals ready for the slaughter, people eat SPAM. Or as it’s more commonly known, ポーク.
Mmmmm.

THAT’S what’s been missing – SPAM!!! You’re right, I don’t need to go home…all the healthy eating’s just down in the islands. Mmmmm

ooh! Now that brings back memories…so many faces I (naturally) haven’t seen since then. And Kerry is the one who put me onto (and indeed taught me) fire stuff. She told me all about it when we were standing around in the freezing cold, and I signed up to her short course the next year.

Have already signed up to – I did as soon as I got home πŸ™‚
