It was a beautiful day today so I joined the throngs wandering around the castle, enjoying the last of the cherry blossoms. Whilst it wasn’t anywhere near as crowded as last night, hopefully these photos will convey some of the atmosphere. Yes, this is my attempt at being better at posting photos to share!
Picnicing on the compulsory blue tarps
Gomisan (Mt Rubbish)
Sword fight – as befits the castle grounds!
The throng from afar
Looking beyond the blossoms
Obligatory castle shot – I live just down the road from here!
And stalker of the day award goes to the man in green – he followed me for the hour plus I was there, taking photos of me right up until I rode my bike away!
Those pics are ultra-cool. Like Ash from Army of Darkness cool.
Wow.
glad you like 🙂
Nice to know that you can still have people attacking each other with swords in public in the 21st century…Go Japan!
Blossoms are magical and I’m glad there is spring in your air 🙂
It did give me an “I love Japan” moment…and lots of shots were taken to capture what would be inconceivable back home *grin*
Me too
I’m tempted to rush out and take some autumn pictures to counter yours – but spring is best.
Nice to see the photos, and glad to hear your bike has been useful.
hmm.. spring is best here, but in Melb, Autumn is my fave season.
I eagerly await your counter-photos!!!
Unfortunately it’s the same dodge bike I’ve been using all along. After all the effort of getting the bike serviced, pulling it apart and packing it, I weighed it only to discover the darn thing was 20 kg – my whole weight allowance. *sulk* I am now looking into a new bike here – it won’t be anywhere near as good as mine back home but even three gears is better than none!
Thanks for a yummy yummy lunch too. Ooh, thinking back on it has just given me some inspiration to make that for myself this week. The mussels were great the salad was delish – I can still taste those olives…mmm. So good to see you all as well. Look forward to seeing how much M, J and T grow before I next see them.
