randomness

My hairdryer is completely crap. I know I bought a cheapo and I know I can only expect to get what I pay for. But having had the pleasure of borrowing sly_girl‘s hairdryer for three weeks, my attention has been brought anew to the crapness that is my excuse for a dryer. It doesn’t blow so much as offer a small suggestion of hot air in the general direction of my hair.

My bra is awfully noisy today – creaking and groaning in the manner of a house about to fall down. I am very disconcerted by this. Is this another bra conspiracy – change the sizes so smaller girls can feel bigger (and sucks to those who already have difficulty size wise) and make them noisy so you know you’re wearing it. Something like that.

Yes, my brain is full of of VITAL and IMPORTANT things today.

Well, along with CDs I’ll send you a decent hairdryer if you like *chuckles*

Yes, it is a conspiracy! Created by drooling letches in the lingerie industry who like to *hear* when there’s a set of breasts nearby…

*creakgroancreak*

“Here comes a 38D! Spyglasses ready!’

At least you can use a hairdryer…every time I try to use one, I get a handful of hair sucked into the fans and mulched into wrinkly, brittle knots. One of the drawbacks of having waist-length straight hair, I guess…

My brain is full of penguins. But that’s pretty normal for a Wednesday.

ah you are too kind, dear sir. Unfortunately incompatibility between australian electrics and japanese electrics are what led me to the fateful choice in the first place!

gypsyamberApril 13, 2005 - 6:44 am

Ahh, so that’s it. Cunning, yet stil remarkably unappreciated.

It is matter of practice and determination with drying long hair, it can be done, I tell you! With minimal hair-eating fan activities. But it is much easier now with my new improved short hair 🙂

penguins huh. must be fun 😉

Bras

What bugs me (or amuses, depending on my general mood) is that there are padded bras available everywhere so that anyone can feel like they ahve a D cup or bigger if they desire. But once you actually need said D cup, your options become so much more limited. If it’s so desirable why is it so hard to find decent lingerie?

Re: Bras

I wish it would amuse me, but I really doesn’t. I’ve been wanting a decent, non-padded push-up bra for ages – who says that beyond c cups don’t need them! They would be all the more fun!
What really peeved me was that the bra companies are packaging smaller sizes as larger, ie. c cups are now d cups, without extending the size spectrum to cater for those who are already there. I confirmed with three other friends who brought bras the same week as me and all found that suddenly they were a cup higher than they used to be.
Still, the plus side of the conspiracy theory is that it means that I haven’t magically grown a cup size – that would just be too depressing a mere 4 years on from very painful surgery.

maybe it’s desirable because it’s believed to be a myth. They just can’t believe there are women like us out there, all natural and stunning!

Re: Bras

Sometimes I just get to the point of having to laugh. Most of the time I’m just irritated by it.

See I’m of the opinion that the bigger your breasts, the more possible droop there is, just from size alone. Hence, we need push-up bras 🙂
Um, Bras and Things have started a “fuller figures” stand, so aa selection of bras that are made in larger sizes are all grouped together. Which only really helps when you are in Australia. And Fine Lines – as discussed on Renee’s journal awhlie abck, aren’t bad. They’ve done a new version of the lace ‘Jessie’ which I found gave me a much better shape – now I just need it in my size – they had the ones above and below, jsut not the one I needed.

I’m thinking along more cynical lines of people wanting to create the illusion so they don’t have to deal with the reality of the other curves that tend to come along with the big breasts. For which I blame society and clothing sizes, but that’s a whole other rant 🙂

And I am glad it’s not jsut me witht he ‘up a cup size’ business. I walked out of a bra store recently swearing I was never going bra shopping again. It was depressing to say the least 🙁

Oh and re the surfery, I know someone who had it done when she was 19, and they grew abck 🙁 She obviosuly hadn’t quite finished developing and… 🙁

Re: Bras

It was a fine lines bra I went in to get and found that the same size no longer fitted and they didn’t have any in the appropriate size. I could’ve sworn my breast haven’t changed size -they still fit the old bra fine, it’s just worn out is all. Then when talking with others i discovered there were scary parallels in bra shopping experiences recently.

Yes, I do expect that I will end up back at my original size eventually – Mum had the same surgery and 20 years later she was back to original size. But I can accept that if it’s a decent amount of time, and I will be prepared to go through it all again in 15-20 years time. It’s worth it!
I had mine done at 22 and seemed to have stopped growing a good 3-4 yrs prior to it. Mum pretty much insisted I wait until I’d finished developing.
