Amber- can you tell me the best (cheapest!) way to get from Kyoto to your station? Does only JR run between?

Yup – stay away from JR!! take Hankyu or Keihan (I usually go Keihan but I think Hankyu may be cheaper) Then take subway to Namba – Midosuji from Yodoyabashi if Keihan, Midosuji from Umeda if Hankyu – then a Nankai train from namba to wakayamashi. It’s 890 from wakshi to namba, 230 I think from namba to yodoyabashi/umeda and between 300 and 400 to kyoto – depending which line and which station you get on at. Tokyu for Keihan stops at Demachiyanagi, Sanjo, Shijo, Shichijo.
