Consider me at least 6 weeks out of date with lj, and unlikely to catch up. Please tell me anything special, important, new or everyday in your life which you want me to know or think I would want to know 🙂

Well I have good news. I have a new job :o)
Sorry I didn’t a chance to see you when you were back in Oz. I would have loved to have seen you. Had I got the job sooner perhaps I would have been able to. Oh well there’s always a next time. I hope you are well Amber xox

well, since you last saw me I went and had a great week on the snow 🙂

took a few pics that you can see here

other than that, still happy and having a good time of life.

sorry that we didn’t have more time to catch up while you were in Melbourne 🙁

Hey Sweetie! Glad to hear that you made it back a-ok. One of the new JETs is having a get together for drinks and movies in Myoji (beside Ches’) on Friday night. If you’re feeling up to it we could catch up then.
Me I’m in a (hopefully) mouse free new apartment not too far from my old one. The locals were stellar with helping me out! I tore some ligaments playing badminton on the first day of summer vacation and couldn’t really do much in the move.
Once again dear, glad to hear you’re back ok. If you need anything you know where to find me!

Hugs xxx

Stu

ooh, ouch. Torn ligaments. *winces* Have they healed now? Umm..Friday may be good…can I let you know tomorrow after work? Not sure yet if I’m up to new people and crowds but it could be a very good distraction for me. Thanks for the invite.

gypsyamberSeptember 1, 2005 - 9:28 am

Congratulations!!! That’s fabulous news. What doing? Where? When do you start? I’m so excited for you.
Would’ve loved to see you too. Ah well. Next time I’ll be sticking around for way longer so we will definitely hook up then – if I have to go all the way to Frankston to do so ;-P
Take care, hon
*hugs*

leafsfan_28September 1, 2005 - 9:34 am

I am healing up pretty well. Me Ma told me that ligaments take forever to heal, and the doc said I’d have to wear the brace for at least another 2 weeks. I’ll be seeing him on Monday so who knows.

As for Friday, it should be pretty quiet and if need be you can always pop next door for a break. It’ll be great to see you!

Yay for great people having great weeks! And thanks for the links thru…piccies! Some gorgeous mountain shots…and that sunset..love the colours. Shall show some of my adult students tonight “Look, it does snow in Australia!”

I’m also sorry we didn’t have more time to catch up, but thanks for being such a sweetie and understanding. Next time, I will be back for 4 months and have already issued a ban on hospitals and other dramas 😉
I shall simply spend the next x amount of months anticipating one of your alcoholic thickshakes!

Long absences…

I too have been absent from LJ for far too long. My news is that I have recently moved to Tokyo and started a new job as a business advisor! Fun times in the big city!

I tried emailing you for your bday AND to let you know my news but your wildmail account “doesn’t exist”. Please mail me and so I can update your contact details in my address book.

Have to go make dinner and do homework. Ah – the life of a salaryman!

Well, I caught up with this girl I haven’t seen in ages, she’s been in Japan, but I only got to see her briefly just bef-

Oh yeah. You were there.

gypsyamberSeptember 1, 2005 - 1:15 pm

;-P

It was good seeing you again, if so briefly. Thanks for coming down to the pub…and I’m glad you liked my hair *basks*

*hugs*

Hmm, six weeks of summer work boredom and fun weekend playtimes. Did a lot of snorkeling in the afternoons and weekends. Played in typhoon waves; I think my back is OK. My knee has started to hurt. !! Am I falling apart? I think so. Finally moved into the new place, thank god, and now dealing with the people moving into the old place (looks like they’ll be moving out soon), as well as the aftermath of some who left. The new kids are all SO YOUNG especially considering that most of our new folks last year were 24 to 31 or so. I’ve fought with my kacho over his dumb rules and I guess I lost, but I did it softly and he doesn’t seem to hold it against me, at least not any more than he does my white face, ah ha. On the other hand I’ve bent and bent and bent the rules and no one seems to care as long as no one calls the office about me and I don’t get in a traffic accident. So that’s cool, at least I have some leeway to play with this year despite the conservative office. And finally, I have some new study toys, as you mighta read, and my japanese is progressing quickly again. See you soon maybe? Come and see the new place!

whitmanschildSeptember 1, 2005 - 2:30 pm

You can always crash mine. I’ll see if I can clean up the place a bit. And if you come on Friday, we can chill the whole of Saturday as well. Also, if you’re up for it, we found an amazing new swimming hole that has a brilliant waterfall and is VERY private in case you want to skip the bathing suit. If, however, you’re not up for coming out this direction, I’ll come into the city to see you on Saturday. *bounce* Have missed you terribly, dear. Glad you’re back. *bearhugs and kiss*

I am back in Portland, OR, with a new apartment but no job yet. I’ve been off lj for a while too because my laptop died yet again, but I bought a kick-ass desktop in the meantime. The job search continues and soon I will be getting a kitty. I’ve been riding the roller coaster of culture shock and the depression that comes with it, but today is a good day.

Oh, and I think I’m in love with an inaka JET who recontracted. He’s coming to visit me in Portland next month. 🙂

universecorsairSeptember 1, 2005 - 5:25 pm

D’Oh!

Um….that anonymous one above is me….stupid computer.

gypsyamberSeptember 2, 2005 - 12:37 am

Think I’m up for it – and the water hole sounds awesome. Apart from alcomahol and bathers, what do I need to bring?

gypsyamberSeptember 2, 2005 - 12:38 am

Gimme a coupla weeks to settle in and sort myself out, and I’m down there 🙂

gypsyamberSeptember 2, 2005 - 12:52 am

Re: D’Oh!

Sorry to hear about the rollarcoaster – surely not helped if you’ve fallen for someone you’ve left behind :-/

Shiny new desktop is good though. And rollarcoasters have a limited time span….

whitmanschildSeptember 2, 2005 - 2:12 am

Just your lovely self and any food that you you’d like that you don’t think you can buy at my grocery store or konbini… We’re starting in right after work, so come as early as you like.

whitmanschildSeptember 2, 2005 - 2:14 am

Oh, and also make sure you wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in. The waterfall is a 20-25 minute non-strenuous hike from the train station.

audacious21September 2, 2005 - 8:39 am

OK, I am working as a Pharmacy Assistant again, in Mentone, opposite the Mentone train station. Itt’s really close to where I live. I live in Cheltenham, and by car I am about 5 mins or so away :o) And I can get there either by bus or train. But Darryn drops me off, and I catch PT home.

I’ve already started, today was my third day. So far so good, they are a nice bunch and I am fitting in nicely. And I’ve already had some good feed back from some of the staff regarding me and how well I have started off. So that makes me really happy!

As for catching up next time, you won’t have to go all the way to Frankston! :o) Can’t wait xox
