How to spend a lot of money in one day……

Take up photography and get serious about it!

Last night I ordered this and this.

Amazing to think that the first lens I ever bought myself took all of my savings, all $120 of them, and an extra $80 from Mum. Boy, am I a long way from those times!

Now I have everything I wanted to get before leaving here, camerawise – an EOS 1V film body, an EOS 20D digital body, a super-wide angle lens with wide aperture (oooh, the fun I’m going to have!), a tripod and a ETTL flash.

With much thanks to delwyn for his generous gift of a 35-200mm zoom (thereby allowing me to indulge in a super wide angle) and to Dad for the wonderful case in which to store/transport my equipment. I even felt *gasp* professional when I went to Osaka for my first commisioned shoot last weekend!!

And now I have been asked to do photos of a friend and her band. They already want to use some of my photos for one of their promotional campaigns.

*pinches self* It’s happening, it really is!

*drool* very nice gear. I’d love to have a good wide angle for my DSLR but the cost is too much for the use I’d put it too.

Enjoy your snapping

When I’m back for a few months you’d be welcome to borrow my lens sometimes 🙂 It’s still only a wide angle, not a super wide angle for the DSLR, but any wider and they turn into fisheye lenses – funky but limited practicality.

I wanna buy a tripod.

I think I might borrow the SLR you left with nikkicat and experiment at cradle mountain tomorrow 🙂
