Quiet, quiet weekend. Basically two and a half days of rest. My body got determined to make me rest and so gave me a touch of gastro so I couldn’t work on friday. Although I tried – I managed nearly two hours and at least made sure all deliveries went out that needed to on Friday.

Friday: Slept and read.

Saturday: was more of the same, and dvds in the evening.

Sunday: I put aside the book to try and quick-learn some photoshop skills that I really should have, considering that the lovely arienmir has set me up with an interview with her boss for some freelance work. After a few hours of feeling like I was getting nowhere very slowly, and wondering why on earth people think that “fixing it up in photoshop” is easier than getting the photo right to begin with, zen_cat suggested lunch, somewhere different. So we went to Pireaus Blues and partook in their gorgeous Father’s Day banquet and strolled a little around Brunswick St until dizziness caught up with me again.
Later in the evening I finally succeeded in removing the background from the photo, although I still need to finesse it to be neater. Not to bad for first try though.

This morning I woke up for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks with no headache, earache, dizziness, wooziness or fog-in-brain feeling *and* I had energy. Hooray!!!! A couple of hours into work and the wooze isvslowly filtering in, but still, I’m feeling so much better than even yesterday. Thank heaven!

Of course, I’ve already gone ahead and canceled dinner plans for tonight, but probably good for me to not go all gung ho and push too much right now, and methinks that shopping *and* cooking after a day of work may just be pushing it.

The wonderful zen_cat also dropped off all my stuff at my place this morning and drove me to work so I don’t have to tackle driving yet to pick up everything that had migrated across to his place. Instead I can just go home and enjoy pottering around, making places for things…basically doing what I’ve been chaffing at the bit to do these past three weeks.

Oh, and I have a lovely, lovely next door neighbour. Going home briefly on Saturday to pick up some things, I was greeted with a pot plant with pretty pink flowers sitting in the ornamental pot I have on my porch – which was eventually going to get a pot plant, honest! Obviously she felt it needed a pot plant and so left one for me.

Can anyone tell me how to say “thank you for the pot plant” in Arabic? She only speaks Arabic, you see. I’ve now decided to learn some basic phrases so I can at least greet her in her language.

Today is a good day 😀

Now, to more photoshop study…. and maybe see if my CS3 Design Premium has come in yet!

Hugs Babe – glad to hear that it is getting better. I can cook you tea on Tuesday if you like round at our place. Adam is working and I was thinking of just having a quiet evening.

I put Alex to the task. he says:

Shukran lin-nabaat

It means “thank you for the plant”. (he didn’t know the word for potted)

😀

SHOOK-rahn lin-naBAHT is the pronounciation, apparently.
