Hmph.

Victoria’s Secret are not all they’re cracked up to be. A mere two months after purchasing a ‘sensible’ bra which I was assured would last me two years if I looked after it properly, elastic is poking out of the back strap. Not happy. I presume that by ‘looking after it properly’ they meant lock it in a glass cabinet and admire it periodically. But it’s not even pretty to look at. Next time I’m going pretty over practical. Seems they last longer too. Ah well…soon, soon I will have new pretties courtesy request mail *looks hopefully in eec‘s direction*

In other news, my old email is back, conspicuously minus the 400odd emails I had in my inbox and folders. Another HMPH, with added emphasis. And no they didn’t wipe them cos I was over limit. I was at a very reasonable 7% of my full capacity 😛 So, favouring the new yahoo account from now on.

I’ve had this same Yahoo account for going on five years now. I also still have my very first email account from eight years ago, which was Hotmail before Microsoft bought them. Several issues prompted the switch, not the least of which was the deactivation of my account after having my internet cut off and not being able to access my email for 33 days. When I reactivated my Hotmail account, the folders which had contained the previous three-and-a-half years of my correspondence were quite empty. Needless to say, I was furious. I have never had even the slightest problem with my Yahoo account, and before I left for Japan, I decided to upgrade it to a paid account so that I could 1) assure that it would never deactivate due to a lapse in use and 2) get a bigger mailbox because I knew I would be communicating via email a LOT while in Japan. Since then, they have subsequently increased the size of paid-account mailboxes by 800% and given me their Yahoo MailPlus option for free. Their spam protection is top-notch. I pay the same $20 a year for all of it. I keep the Hotmail account for two reasons: I use it for all online activities which might leave me a target for spam or solicitation and it is also the account that my long-ago friends from high school had and may try to use if they ever want to contact me. It’s paid off in that regard at least once already, aside from being a spam magnet. I recommend Yahoo as a web-based email for anyone who asks, and I personally use it as my primary email. *in silly cowboy yodel* YAHOOOOO-OOOO!

Yeah, I like the set-up of yahoo much better. Little things used to annoy me about care2, but I can’t access my yahoo account from work. Still, after this little fiasco, not having email at work is a small inconvenience. I’ve been bitten by the hotmail ‘oh, you have’t been here for 33 days, lets wipe everything’ before and lost lots of contacts then *shakes head* She’s a slow learner.
Still, am optomistic about the new beginning and have made many vows to self about being a better email buddy *nods decisively* yes I have!
Of course, I haven’t read the fineprint…can yahoo cut you off if you don’t check email for a period of time, and if so, what period of time?

I gave up on sensibly priced for my size a loooong time ago. There was a very good reason why I used to only ever have two bras at one time :-/
Still, I was excited when they started prettying up bras bigger than BB cups! I still get a kick out of finding sexy, lacy, low cut bras in my size. I’ve found my VS one is cut too high for most of my tops…even the ones I didn’t think were low cut. Overall, wasn’t impressed with all the bras I saw in America – this was the best of a bad bunch. Of course, I was on a time limit so could only go to a few places, and lets face it, when in a new city who ever finds _the_ places to shop on their only afternoon out?! But what I noticed was that the bras didn’t seem to shape as much as Australian ones do. They all had the same sort of limp, ‘here fill me and mold me with your shape’ attitude. Whereas in Australia, different bras look completely different on and create totally different shapes..even in the practical ranges.
Disappointed.

On the other hand, found some fabulous black cargoes – those which were impossible for me to find in Melbourne. I had a choice of ten different styles at one target-style store. Hooray!

The scoop on Yahoo’s deactivation of email accounts

If an account has not been logged into for over four months, it will become “dormant.”

Dormant accounts are de-activated at the end of four months. Once an account is deactivated, you will no longer have access regardless of whether or not email has been received in the account during that time.

Once an account has been de-activated, we cannot retrieve any of the information that was formerly stored in it.

Please Note: Subscribing to any of the Yahoo! Mail Premium Services will prevent your account from going dormant due to inactivity.

So, to answer your question, it takes 8 months for all of your info to go bye-bye.
