*looks very serious*
A small announcement, if you please:
*gives up looking serious*
*whoops and bounces*
I RODE to work today!!!!!!!
Almost a year to the day since I last rode a bike.
Thank you teknohippi for the bike. She’s now fitted with lights, basket, bell, new pedals and anti-theft quick release spokes.
Woo! Go team you. :o)
Good for you!
See you on sat
that is MOST AWESOME!!!
congratulations! i feel like we should be having drinks or something!
This is most excellent 🙂
Yay you! Bike riding rules!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cue cheers that can be heard from California*
Congratulations
Lovely news!!! Bike-riding is so good for knees.
fan-fucking-tastic! Enjoy the freedom of bikedom, so glad that your knee is letting you do more and more things.
Yup – yay me!!!
Looking forward to it 🙂
Like, totally!!!!
Indeed it is. The less excellent is that riding home was hell…but, I can ride in the mornings!!!! (knee too tired by evening for anything – still getting used to working so much and not quite strong enough. I have had renewed determination for my exercises)
It really does. I’ve missed it so much. it felt so right and normal to be abck on it – except that my body was no longer conditioned so while my mind was saying ‘this is no distance at all” my body was saying “are you shitting me?!”
All the ocean critters were wondering what the big hoohah was all about! 😉
I’ve since worked out I can’t ride to work, cos by the time I’ve finished a shift my knee is too tired to deal with it. But the riding will happen on weekends whilst I continue to build up my knee’s strength and stamina. WHOOOO indeed!
Re: Congratulations
I’ve discovered it is good for knees *before* doing an x-hour shift of work; not so crash hot on the *after*. But too anf from gym in the morning should be fine 😀
*bounce*
I do wish I could pass this pain-free (when I don’t overdo it) wellbeing to you as well…..
A couple of days ago I actually sat cross-legged. I’m loving how almost every day it feels that there’s another new milestone of something I couldn’t do a week ago. It’s such an amazing feeling and I really wouldn’t have dreamt so many milestones were possible!
I know the feeling. In fact, I expect to experience it for myself when I cycle to work on Monday (first time for the new job). And even more on the way home, especially if these northerlies continue to prevail.
